Mercy de Ataíde
As you might have figured out from the above, I'm Mercy. This personal blog is mostly a repository for my thoughts- I've always found it a lot easier to sift through things once they're down on the page, and transcribing entries can be really relaxing when I just want to mindlessly type. Makes it easier to update when I'm in field, too. There's not exactly very much else to preoccupy yourself with out here.
I'm from Sawnbone, Ontario. It's a small, non-descript corner of the province. We don't get much by the way of tourism: most of the town (if you're being generous in calling it a town) could fit bundled alongside the single road in and out of Sawnbone. The most interesting thing about it is the name- it comes from the odd density of doctors in the area a long time ago, back when the sawmill was new, and the mine shafts were being dug out. We get more white tailed deer than visitors, really- and the community more or less likes it that way. It's a sleepy sort of place.
That's all well and good and all, but I get bored- most of the young people here are pretty restless. Asides from watching what's gallivanting around in nature, crossing your fingers that the local library was able to get that book on loan after months, or swimming in the river, there's only so much to preoccupy yourself with. It's nice to read, it's nice to write- I do a little painting, too, when the weather's good enough to head on out with my easel and paint set. Maybe I'll share some of my art on here sometime- it is my little corner of cyber space, after all.
No promises on any sort of solid schedule. I'm mostly just doing whatever I feel like, yeah?
